BAMBOO VILLAGE INITIATIVE
200 Bamboo Villages Across the Tropical Belt by 2030
In partnership with the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, Bamboo Village Trust is working to establish 200 Bamboo Villages across the tropical belt by providing technical support and preparatory grants through the Backbone Landscape Partner organizations.
🌍 We are excited to announce that our Executive Director, Arief Rabik, will represent Bamboo Village Trust as a panelist at #WUF12 in Cairo! He will participate in one of the “SDGs in Action” session panel discussions called “Pioneering Resilient Cities for Tomorrow”, organized by the Centre for Natural Material Innovation (CNMI), Cambridge Transformation Labs, and Cambridge University, alongside co-organizers Brightkey Partners, Bamboo Village Trust, and UN Habitat on November 7.
In this session, Arief will join a distinguished group of architects, engineers, and policymakers to showcase hands-on examples of how bamboo and other bio-based materials can help implement the Sustainable Development Goals. From addressing urgent housing needs to creating green jobs, bamboo presents a sustainable solution for urban challenges and climate resilience. 🌿✨
