Bamboo Village Trust (BVT) is committed to fostering a <\/span>culture of openness, integrity, and the highest <\/span>standards of accountability. This mechanism <\/span>establishes a clear process for stakeholders, <\/span>individuals, Backbone Landscape Partners (BBLPs), <\/span>Champions, and bamboo village communities to raise <\/span>concerns regarding BVT initiatives.<\/span>\u200b<\/p>

\u200bThis aligns with BVT\u2019s Accountability System Policy <\/span>and the “Do No Harm” principle, ensuring timely, <\/span>consistent responses, and access to remedy.<\/span>\u200b<\/p>

\u200bEach grievance is assessed for potential breach of <\/span>BVT\u2019s social and environmental safeguards, Code of <\/span>Conduct, standards or procedures. A grievance is defined as a formal complaint regarding actual or potential harm, injustice, or\u00a0 non-compliance resulting from BVT programs or projects. Grievances are classified into the following categories:\u200b<\/span><\/p>

  1. Programmatic & Social Issues (Grievance<\/b>Redress Mechanism – GRM):

    <\/b><\/span><\/b>– Exclusion from a project consultations or activities, including free, prior, and <\/span>informed consent processes (FPIC);
    <\/span><\/span>


    – Harm from project activities <\/span><\/span><\/span>(<\/span><\/span>e.g.,pollution<\/span><\/span>, noise, dust, disruption);<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

    – Risks to community health, safety, or <\/span><\/span><\/span>security (e.g., use of security personnel, <\/span><\/span><\/span>disease, road\/traffic safety);<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

    – Conflicts<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>regarding<\/span><\/span> land use or natural\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>resource management attributed to <\/span><\/span><\/span>project\u00a0<\/span><\/span>operations.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  2. Serious Misconduct:

    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>– <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Misappropriation of funds, fraud, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>corruption, or bribery.

    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

    – Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and <\/span><\/span><\/span>Harassment (SEAH) against staff or <\/span><\/span><\/span>community members.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

    – Violations of child protection policies and <\/span><\/span><\/span>standards.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

    – Retaliation against whistleblowers or <\/span><\/span><\/span>complainants.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

    Any bamboo village community, organization, <\/span><\/span><\/span>farmer, staff member, implementing partner, or <\/span><\/span><\/span>affected party may\u00a0<\/span><\/span>submit<\/span><\/span> a complaint. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Representatives or third parties may also lodge a <\/span><\/span><\/span>complaint on their behalf. Complaints may be <\/span><\/span><\/span>submitted<\/span><\/span> anonymously, and BVT guarantees the\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>confidentiality of the complainant\u2019s identity.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
